Bareilly— Under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026, the University Cultural Centre of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, organized a speech skills competition yesterday on the theme “Vision of a Developed India.” Students of the university participated enthusiastically, effectively presenting their views on the concept of independent India, its ideals, and the nation’s future.
Participants spoke on a wide range of themes including the values of freedom, the democratic system, social harmony, equal opportunity, education, women’s empowerment, youth power, self-reliance, science and technological development, economic progress, cultural heritage, and nation-building. Rather than limiting the meaning of freedom to political independence alone, participants presented perspectives connecting it to social, economic, educational, and intellectual freedom. The competition aimed to develop students’ expression skills, logical thinking, national consciousness, and sense of social responsibility, while offering them an opportunity to reflect on the current state and future possibilities of independent India.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Anil Kumar Rai said speech competitions give students the opportunity to present their ideas logically and effectively. He noted that hearing students’ views on a theme like “Vision of a Developed India” is significant, as it offers insight into how the younger generation views the values of freedom, democracy, and the nation’s future. He added that under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan-2026, university students are actively and enthusiastically participating in various activities, with scheduled programs being conducted as per the timetable. He emphasized that fostering national consciousness, social responsibility, and positive thinking among youth is important for the nation’s progress.
Results Declared: Winners to Represent University at District Level
Cultural Coordinator and Nodal Officer Dr. Jyoti Pandey announced that the quiz, painting, and speech skills competitions held under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan have concluded, with results declared the same day.
In the quiz competition, Yash Gupta secured first place, Keshav Vatsa second, and Nigalesh Kumar third. In the painting competition, Shraddha Sharma placed first, Ishita Saxena second, and Priyanshu Pandey third. In the speech skills competition, Sunaina Saxena placed first, Abhay Singh second, and Drishti third. Winners from all these competitions will represent the university at competitions to be held at the district level on September 26, 2026.
The successful organization of the program was supported by Registrar Mahendra Kumar Singh and, under the coordination of Cultural Coordinator and Nodal Officer Dr. Jyoti Pandey, by cultural committee members Dr. Inderpreet Kaur and Dr. Saurabh Verma, along with members of the Culture Club. Across all the competitions, students expressed the “Vision of Independent India” from diverse perspectives, effectively articulating the values of freedom, the nation’s achievements, and their own vision for India’s future.
